When the third Michelin star was announced, I instantly knew where I wanted to celebrate a very special anniversary with a very special person: Casa Perbellini.
The expectations were sky-high — and yet, they were beautifully, joyfully surpassed.
Verona, the city of love (and one I personally adore), already gave the evening the perfect backdrop.
As we stepped inside, we were welcomed into a room that felt both intimate and striking. A beautifully painted ceiling stole our gaze, while the walls displayed tasteful, historical elegance. The lighting was warm and inviting, perfectly balanced with contemporary touches — like the open shelving and curated decor that added personality without overwhelming the space. It was refined, timeless, and incredibly welcoming.
We chose the most personal menu: “Io & Silvia.” And from the very first bite, it was a journey of delight.
Each course brought its own emotion — bold but balanced flavors, clever pairings, a harmony of textures, and a touch of magic woven throughout.
We paired the experience with a 2016 Sassicaia: an elegant and structured wine, with vibrant freshness, silky tannins, and beautifully layered complexity. It offered a refined balance of red berries, spice, and earthy undertones — the kind of bottle that elevates a special dinner into a lasting memory.
To our surprise and delight, we ended the evening meeting Chef Giancarlo Perbellini himself. He graciously walked us through the kitchen and spent time with us, making the night even more special.
We left Casa Perbellini with full hearts, even fuller smiles, and a promise to return — still hand in hand, still in love…Just like Romeo&Juliet.
Final score: 10/10
